Migraine Treatment

Migraine is one of the most common primary headaches. The disease affects about 10-15% of the general population, mainly young people, more often it occurs in women. 80-90% of migraine cases are migraine without aura. In other patients, headache is preceded by neurological symptoms called aura.

The most common symptom of migraine aura is visual disturbance (zigzag shadows in the field of vision, mottles or visual field defects), but additional symptoms such as hemiparesis, hemiparesis, aphasia, nausea, vomiting, photophobia, and photosensitivity may also occur.
In the case of a troublesome disease such as migraine, treatment can be based on pharmacological agents or unconventional methods. Botox migraine treatment is gaining more and more supporters, as is migraine treatment with acupuncture, herbs or using psychotherapy.

Effective Relief for Chronic Migraine Sufferers

For those living with regular migraines, the impact on daily life can be profound. From disrupted routines and missed work to the debilitating intensity of the pain itself, migraines can significantly affect both physical and emotional wellbeing.

Botox for Migraine Management

Botulinum toxin (commonly known as Botox) is widely recognised for its cosmetic benefits; however, it is also a clinically approved treatment for chronic migraine prevention.

This treatment works by:

  • Relaxing targeted muscles in the head and neck
  • Reducing muscle tension that can contribute to migraine onset
  • Interrupting pain signals associated with migraine attacks

By addressing these underlying factors, Botox can help to reduce the frequency, severity, and duration of migraines over time.

Your Safety Comes First

As migraine treatment with Botox is a medical procedure, we strongly recommend that all patients consult with their GP prior to treatment to ensure it is appropriate for their individual health needs—particularly if you are currently taking medication or have underlying conditions.

All treatments are carried out by our experienced Nurse Practitioner, Karen Bates, who is fully qualified in administering botulinum toxin treatments.
