In Profhilo, L-HA is released slowly from the HA hybrid complexes and therefore does not trigger the first inflammatory cytokines making it very biocompatible. It also increases patient comfort during and after treatment and provides hydration to the skin especially in the epidermis – the Hydro effect.

H-HA in Profhilo provides a stable HA architecture in the dermis. This gives a volumetric effect – the Lift effect.

Another advantage of the stable co-operative hybrid complex when compared to H-HA and L-HA is the increase in the expression levels of type I and type III collagen in fibroblast and type IV and VII collagen in keratinocytes.

This results in improved skin quality and skin hydration both in the dermis and epidermis. There is also increased production of endogenous HA and elastin giving the skin a more youthful look.

Profhilo is developed by using a patented technology resulting in hybrid cooperative complexes between high molecular weight HA and low molecular HA without the use of any chemical cross-linking compounds. These complexes increase the stability of HA to enzymatic and mechanical degradation.

As a stabilised product Profhilo lasts in the skin around 28 days. During this time the stimulation of 4 different types of collagen and elastin takes place by slow release of HA. The stimulation results in significant tissue improvement. Therefore, we cannot say that Profhilo is a skin booster as it also has a significant tightening / lifting effect on the tissue.

The downtime is minimal. After the treatment, it is recommended to avoid physical strain and sports for 24 hours. Please also avoid having further cosmetic procedures for 48 hours. It is not recommended to have sauna or steamy bath for the first few days either. It’s best to stay out of the sun if any bruising or prolonged swelling occurs.

 To achieve the best long-lasting results, two treatments are recommended with a four-week interval. Some people may see the results within first week, but the best outcomes of the treatment will be visible four weeks after the second treatment.

Compared to dermal fillers, Profhilo enhances stem cell reproduction meaning your skin rejuvenates. It restores both skin and fat layers to their natural state, and stimulates the body to produce four collagen types. Unlike dermal fillers it does not provide volume.

Usually 2 treatments are recommended (one month apart). You will notice a difference as soon as Profhilo is injected. However optimum results can take up to 2 weeks, where you will by invited for a review and follow-up.

Profhilo generally lasts for up to 6 months where you will experience increased firmness, elasticity and an overall improved quality of skin. At six month you will be invited for a further session to maintain the quality of your skin.
