Autologous Exosmose treatment

What are Autologous Exosomes?

Autologous exosomes are self-derived vesicles obtained from an individual’s tissues or cells and then used for various therapeutic or regenerative purposes. These exosomes are employed to promote skin repair, hydration, inflammation reduction, and anti-ageing which are often derived from stem cells. They increase the production of collagen, suppleness, and consistency of skin tone. In hair care, they can promote healthy scalp functionality and thicker hair growth. Autologous transplant treatment for hair loss involves advanced stem cell therapy using ‘communicating vesicles’ to promote your stem cells to release growth factors. Using autologous exosomes in therapies parallels the concept of an autologous stem cell transplant (auto stem cell transplant), which emphasises personalised, immune-compatible treatments.

Billions of Vesicles

As a result of much research into optimal device and protocol options, Exomine’s exosome-rich plasma achieves an approximate count of 4-5 billion vesicles per ml. With a final product size of approximately 5cc, Exomine delivers an industry-leading vesicle count, providing users an average of 25-30 billion vesicles.

To be defined as exosomes, vesicles need to be 30-150nm in size; be analysed with relevant CD markers; and exhibit high viability. Exomine studies show an average vesicle size of 116nm and a confirmation that 98% of vesicles are platelet-derived exosomes.

Autologous exosomes we use are isolated from your own blood cells. We take 40 ml of your blood, it is a relatively painless procedure (similar to blood being taken from a vein for a blood test). We request that you eat food 1-2 hours prior to having the treatment and be well-hydrated with water. Avoid alcohol 24 hours prior to the treatment. Plan to be in the clinic for 60-90 minutes. You can be a bit bruised and swollen for between 1 to 7 days after the face treatment, but not for the hair treatment. The skin of the face and neck or the scalp is numbed for 20-30 minutes (this is done while the exosomes are being prepared). The skin is cleansed. Multiple fine, painless injections are performed using an invisible needle to inject the exosomes into the dermis of the skin or the scalp.

Exosomes are generally safe for treatment, but there are some common concerns to consider. One concern is the possibility for the body to reject exosomes, but since exosomes are not cells, they can be extracted from various sources and used for treatment. Another concern is the health and safety of the sourced material, but this shouldn’t be a worry with autologous exosome treatments. The primary question about exosome safety pertains to the patient’s health, so the treatment is not offered to patients with certain medical conditions.
  • Platelet dysfunction syndrome
  • Critical thrombocytopenia
  • Hemodynamic instability
  • Septicemia
  • Cancer, especially hematopoietic or bone
Exosome skin therapy enhances the look, suppleness, and strength of the skin. It is also used to treat other unusual scars, stretch marks, and acne. The effects typically become apparent after a few therapies and last for up to a year after therapy is finished. However, the course of treatment typically lasts 8 to 10 months.
It is advised to avoid wearing makeup or touching the treated parts for six hours. After a day, you can put on makeup and moisturiser.
Even though you may see results after just one therapy session, the doctor will determine how many sessions are necessary based on the severity of the issue in the affected area. Typically, 1-2 vials are used per session, with 2 sessions spaced 6 months apart. It is advised to use three to four vials of treatment in case the patient is unable to return for additional sessions after just one.
Treatment for hair loss with exosomes: Requires 1 Session.
Maintain dosage: It is advised to have one session every 3 to 6 months.
Autologous exosome (stem cell transplant) costs vary depending on the specific treatment and individual needs. Prices for procedures such as skin or hair rejuvenation typically start at around £750. Keep in mind that your doctor will give you a detailed cost estimate during your consultation. This estimate will consider your specific needs and the overall treatment plan.
Due to the regenerative qualities, autologous exosome therapy may be able to help in tissue regeneration and repair. Additionally, it might be beneficial for ailments including autoimmune illnesses and tissue injuries since it can regulate the immune response and reduce inflammation.
While autologous exosome transplant is considered relatively safe, potential risks may include injection site reactions, allergic responses, or infection in the area of administration. Additionally, as exosomes can modulate the immune system, there is a theoretical risk of immune system dysregulation, although this risk is not well-established.
